You'll get sued for copyright infringement if you published a book of them :) Unless of course you contacted all the people who originally wrote most of the words you used in the articles (and the owners of the photographs) and got permission to use their material.

Yes, copyright can be a serious issue. That is why Doug had to cease producing the series.

As much as I enjoyed them at the time, copyright is one thing, plagiarism entirely another.

Plagiarism is a blight on society even where copyright is not claimed or doesn't exist. Unfortunately it's so prevalent in Australian universities that they have to employ parsers to
check students' work. Any author or publisher should as a minimum attribute and accredit his/her sources. With some exceptions, even that doesn't allow anyone publishing to ignore copyright.
